Countdown to the Chicago Marathon

Posted by Ryan Polly on Jul 7, 2015 6:30:00 PM

On October 11th, I will be heading to Chicago to participate in the Chicago Marathon. This will be my first Chicago marathon, and I am extremely excited. Chicago is flat and, therefore, a fast course. Plus, the marathon runs through the heart of the city. It will be an unforgettable experience.

Over the next 14 weeks I’ll be recording videos of my training progress (like the one above) to help keep me motivated. Please feel free to subscribe to my youtube channel and follow me on my journey to the Chicago Marathon.I’m sharing this with you now because it’s GO time! The past few months have been tough for me with a lot of life events out of my control causing me to prioritize training towards the bottom of the importance list. I’ve gained a few pounds, and I don’t feel as fit as I normally would going into marathon training. The thing is though, that is life. Life is never perfect; it’s messy, with bumps along the way. It would be silly to look back and regret and wonder what if…that just causes exhaustion and mentally breaks me down. All I can do is look towards the future and know that in 14 weeks I WILL be crossing the Chicago Marathon finish line and adding another medal to my medal rack.

Disclosure: Cal-EZ is supporting me financially through an athletic sponsorship; however, I was taking Cal-EZ prior to receiving the sponsorship because it works!
